Alone, but not lonely: this is how you do it!

Do you also want to be able to be alone, without feeling lonely? Walk a pilgrimage! Ha, no kidding. What you can do, however, is try to see your situation from a broader perspective. But how does one approach that, you wonder? I'm sharing with you how I'm transforming my mindset.

“Now I’m walking the camino alone, but I don't feel lonely. As the stages grow longer and more intensive, one can make time for extended periods of introspection and reflection. Although the reunion and goodbyes of the previous day have left a great impression on me, I can find closure easily.

As I climb a mountain, I see everything from a broader perspective. I see now what really matters. After all, we humans are nature. Like molecules, we are part of one greater whole. The basic conditions of the pilgrimage make me feel grateful for the luxury we can live in. I look back on personal victories and flourishing friendships, stronger than ever. They provide proof that I am living a rich life, which makes the fears I had disappear. I find peace and a new sense of freedom, high on my own supply, completely serene, fulfilled. And so, the love rises for myself, my friends, the world and everything that lives in it.”
