The power of connecting to nature | Winter time

The power of connecting to nature | Winter time

We all notice it. Days are getting shorter, temperatures are dropping, the wind chill is dropping even more, and staying indoors becomes more tempting. Everyone deals with it in their own way. You may have gloomier, or even more depressive thoughts. Or perhaps your motivation drops and that fire in your eyes burns less. What to do about this?

  • On the one hand, I invite you to give in to the natural fatigue. Winter is a period of rest, which is reflected in nature. Give yourself more attention. It doesn't even have to take much time, during your busy daily life. In just 5-10 minutes a day you can philosophize and meditate; or give yourself a relaxing massage. Time to get rid of nerve-wracking thoughts, so that peace can return.

  • How conscious are you of your breathing? Is it coming from your chest area at the moment? Are you able to move this to your lower abdomen, or even lower?

  • On the other hand, we all need a little kick in the ass sometimes! As another form of self-love. Like me, do you sometimes not feel like doing things, such as going for a walk? Go anyway, knowing you’ll be grateful later. As we notice the serenity of nature, we (un)consciously adopt it. In addition, walking in the open air for about 20 minutes daily provides essential vitamin D. Nice side effects are the mild physical exercise and a free immune system-boost. And what better motivator than spoiling yourself to a warm treat when you return?

Having trouble relaxing? Unable to get rid of stressful thoughts? I facilitate 1:1 sessions, in which I can support you. You will receive personal guidance in, for example, meditation, breathing techniques and self-massage. In a familiar environment, you become aware of obstructive actions and you learn exercises that you can use for the rest of your life.
